Participation Suggestions
Arrive on time and stay for the full session. This will help us create a cohesive experience and make the most of our time together. Those who arrive more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted to the zoom session in progress and will need to watch the recording after the event concludes. If you will need to leave the workshop early, please sign off after educational time concludes so that you are not assigned to a small group discussion.
You are welcome to keep your camera on or off during our educational time. During small group discussion time, please turn your camera on to help create trust and engagement.
Bring anything with you that will help you stay focused and comfortable. This could include drinks, snacks, fidgets, a cozy blanket, extra pillows, etc. If you need to get up at any time to take care of personal needs, feel free to do so. Taking care of YOU is important.
Most of our workshop event will be recorded for later viewing for those who are unable to attend live as well as for later purchase (self-reflection time and small group discussion will not be recorded). Take steps to protect your privacy that will help you feel comfortable within the group. You are welcome to change your zoom name to your first name only, for example. You will not be asked to disclose your geographic location, though you are free to share it if you'd like.
Please be aware that difficult feelings and thoughts may arise during or after your participation in this workshop. You are encouraged to seek support from those you trust, which may include a therapist and/or loved ones. If you need referrals for individual therapy, reach out to Laurie for assistance (hello@lauriebmorse.com).
Small Group Discussion Agreements
Our workshop will include optional time at the end to engage in small breakout groups of 3-4 with your fellow participants for 10-15 minutes. You will be provided with guiding questions and time limits prior to moving into breakout rooms. This portion of our workshop will not be recorded.
Limit sharing to guiding questions and honor time limits; this will help ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
Respect privacy; do not share any personal details that others may disclose during our discussion time.
-
Refrain from judging or fixing others when responding to other group members; speak
from your own experience about your own experiences.
Honor your limits and take care of yourself when needed; participate only to the extent that it works for you and your needs at this point in your healing process.
-
Look for good intentions in fellow group participants; we all have strengths and
limitations, we may misspeak or make a misstep in our process, let’s hold grace for each other (while also practicing self-advocacy).
If your experience in a small group discussion leads you to feel concerned about the immediate safety and well-being of a fellow participant, please send Laurie a private message over Zoom or after the event (hello@lauriebmorse.com).
If you feel a fellow participant did not respect these group agreements and it impacted your ability to participate, please share this feedback with Laurie after the event (hello@lauriebmorse.com).
